Description: VINTAGE 1950s Oh Olsberg German Enamel Cast Iron Fondue Pot Mid Century Modern Red Fondue set by German cast iron works Olsberg. The set is composed of a black coated cast iron stand, enameled cast iron pot and chromed metal burner. These components were tailored for each other, creating a harmonious Scandinavian Modern set. The pot is a lipstick red enamel with a black herringbone design bottom. The pan interior is speckled blue grey on white enamel. The pan is marked "oh" on the bottom side and stand marked “OSLBERG” Made in West Germany”. Olsberg (or Olsberger Hütte as it is often referred to) is an ironworks company which roots can be traced back to 1585 and has remained a family-owned company to this day. Throughout its centuries long history, the company mostly made industrial/business to business cast iron products, ovens and limited fondue sets during the 50s-60s. There are no specific (known) designers tied to Olsberg, so we assume it was designed by an in-house team. Circa 1955-58.
