Description: In the mid 1950s Wilson Sporting Goods contracted with many NFL players to endorse their line of football equipment. The players were featured on 8 x 10 ( some slightly larger ) heavy, glossy, black and white photos with a piece of Wilson equipment predominately placed in the shot. These were used as in store window advertisement and promotional pieces in primarily sporting goods store or sporting goods depts. in larger establishments. Sometimes they were given to customers as a premium for buying a Wilson product. They are hard to find because of their limited distribution. Wilson tended to stay with a player over the course of his career which led to some pose changes and redos of individual photos. This Frank Gifford seems to be one of the earlier 50s issues based on the helmet style--- Name is printed on back instead of in a facsimile autograph written in script on front..---Condition is very good with wear--visually striking Vintage, great display item----free shipping-----( I picked up a group of over 20 different Wilson Advisory Staff promos ( a mix of baseball and football ) and am in the process of listing them all so please take a look if they are of interest.)
