Description: Rare estate sale find! One of the most stunning evening dresses you will ever see. Here is a Late 1950s Blue Satin and Gold Lace Floral Embossed Couture Sleeveless Evening Dress made by Jobere Morty Sussman for Lord and Taylor Size 10 (Vintage size). From the outside everything looks immaculate with this dress. Absolutely spectacular details. Original color and fabric, the sparkle in the gold embroidery still fully intact and no loosing of the lace, satin fabric still extremely soft, dress flairs at the hip. Back steel zipper and hook closure. Metal shows signs of age, zips perfectly fine. Only very minor wear and tear in the front, most notably a small half a centimeter laundry hole just below the front waist area that can be attributed to age. Extremely classy and sophisticated dress that can be easily worn to the most extravagant parties. Inside the dress however, it’s a different story and thus my low price. The dress unfortunately suffered water damage on both the left and right front of the dress. The water damage is very noticeable, specifically in the interior with clear water marks and some deterioration of fabric on the upper left. The water damage can also be seen on the front side of the dress, but it’s barely noticeable because of the embroidery, only visible from fairly close. No other damage other than the small details I mentioned earlier. See the pictures! Thus the dress needs careful restoration in some areas. Considering the rest of the dress is in rather immaculate shape, I feel like the dress could easily be restored without much money involved. This is easily one of the nicest evening dresses I ever encountered in all my years dealing with clothing, but I don’t have the time to properly restore it back to glory. It is made in the USA with the International Ladies Garment Union Logo on the bottom of the zip line. Hip is 15”, underarm to underarm is 18 1/2”, length is 48” and 29”-30” waist. Please look at the pictures, again this is one very stunning dress, and can be used for special occasions. Feel free to ask me any questions.
