Description: Up for auction is a rare and gently used professional Conn 28M "Connstellation" alto saxophone. Most of the keys move freely and the pads/corks are in fair condition(should be replaced soon for good playing condition or overhauled for optimal performance). There are no major dents present and several minor dings are too small to photograph. This alto sax has minor scratches throughout from normal use and the lacquer has minimal wear, with 95% of lacquer intact(I'm unsure if the lacquer is original). The serial number is in the upper 335,7xx range, which dates manufacture to approximately 1950 and the plastic body guard is intact(no chips or breaks, but there are a couple of minor cracks around the screws). Included is a used and worn alto sax case, with room to hold a clarinet in a separate compartment and a flute in the case lid. The case latches catch, but are old and stiff to operate. No mouthpiece is included. The pictures provided are considered as part of the description and this is being sold in "as-is" condition. If you're unfamiliar about this model, "it was designed with input from Santy Runyon, and is a departure from Conn's other pro sax lines (the 6M and the 26M). The result is an amazingly modern sax that competed with Selmer's Mark VI for ergonomics while maintaining that fat, rich 6M tone that pro Conn players love. Conn kept the underslung neck but dropped the microtuner. The keywork was completely redone, and particular attention was paid to ensuring that each key moved in the same direction as you pressed down. The result is a horn with arguably the slickest action found on any sax, be it vintage or modern. This horn is considered Conn's top pro model, but alas, it was only built for about 4 years. Because of this, it's not only an amazing horn, it is one of the rarest of the Conn altos." Winning bidder is to pay $85.00 for standard shipping, handling and insurance. The insured package will be shipped to the winning bidder's physical address with an adult signature required for delivery. NO P.O. Boxes! Please email any question you may have BEFORE you place a bid. Thank you for looking and happy bidding! If your shipping address is in one of the marketplace responsibility states within the U.S., applicable sales tax will be collected by EBay and included in the order total at checkout.
