1950-60s Era Lexington Ky letter Kentucky Wildcat & Notre Dame football content-

Description: 7 1/4" wide by 10 1/2" long single page of the 1950s/1960s Era letter written by a Lexington Kentucky World War II vet sent from Benton Kentucky with great content about University of Kentucky and Notre Dame college football. The letterhead features A "Ruptured Duck" honorable discharge emblem at top reading: "Eugene M Luttrell 449 W. 7th St., Lexington 12 – Kentucky". The letter reads: "Saturday night 329 Main St., Benton, Kentucky. Dear Carl, we heard Kentucky with Villanova this afternoon and we were sure glad we won. After we got off to such a good start I didn't worry about us losing, I didn't want the wrong Wildcats to score. However 14 points scored by the opposition in five games is only an average of less than three points per game which is still very good in anyone's book. The local station carried the game with Jay. B. Faulconer of WLAP network calling the game. The Irish of Notre Dame bit the dust again today I hear – good enough for them. Will give Indiana a little more recognition. This Florida team has been winning some games too-may give us quite a tussle if they improve very much. Our Kentucky geological Society dinner meeting is going to be at Capp's Coach House. It's always been at the Lafayette but they didn't have room for us due to the football game and all the homecoming, etc. in Lexington that weekend. My trip to Mississippi went as well as could be expected. I rode a bus down but rode a train part way back. I did learn some coastal plain geology which may help." And there the letter ends. Unsigned but with great content. Really a cool vintage one-of-a-kind item in used condition with edge wear and soiling consistent with age and normal use (See images below for clarification)- A great item ready for display-This is an ORIGINAL item, NOT A REPRODUCTION item! Postage information is listed at the bottom-$ 4.95 postage is required. 1950-60s Era Lexington Ky letter Kentucky Wildcat & Notre Dame football content- Click images to enlarge Description Check it out...Here's a unique 7 1/4" wide by 10 1/2" long single page of the 1950s/1960s Era letter written by a Lexington Kentucky World War II vet sent from Benton Kentucky with great content about University of Kentucky and Notre Dame college football. Terms of Sale I try and place a penny in every photo to help judge the size of the item, obviously it is there for size comparison and is not included with the item. The standard sized Lincoln head penny in the photograph is there for size comparison ONLY and is not included in the package. We're just trying to help you figure out how big the item is. We try and always be as accurate as we can in the item description and will gladly answer any question about item size & description when needed. Please e-mail us with any questions BEFORE the end of sale and BEFORE placing a bid. Postage is determined by the U.S. Postal service and is never refundable. Many of the items are VINTAGE and although they are in very fine condition, they may not function as well as when they were made decades ago. So if you intend on using the old item, please be aware that we are selling it for collector value only. In other words, if you intend on using a 50+ year old letter opener and it breaks, don't get mad at us. It may be hard to believe, but we have received a couple negatives because people broke vintage items while trying to use them.
