The award was made yesterday in New York by the American Women's association. Mrs. Fanny S. Sweeney (left) is shown presiding at the presentation ceremony and Mrs. Amy Lorton McKay is the observer. Dr. Gilbreth, 70 years old, is a management engineer and the mother of 11 children. The award cited her for "eminent achievement" in commerce and industry. Lillian Evelyn Moller Gilbreth was an American psychologist, industrial engineer, consultant, and educator who was an early pioneer in applying psychology to time-and-motion studies.
