Description: STUNNING PHOTOGRAPHS OF PRAGUE, CZECHOSLOVAKIA, IN 1948. This features the photographs of Karla Plicky, with some Introductory text by Zdenka Wirtha. Published in 1948 by Ceska Graficka Unie A.S. V Praze. I don't think this is a First Edition; a similarly titled book was published in 1940. Overall in VERY GOOD CONDITION. Dust jacket has substantial edge and corner wear on front cover, with small tears and chips; otherwise the thick paper dust jacket with lighter spine, flap and back cover wear, now handsomely portrayed in a mylar jacket. The front board has a few horizontal scratches, else very light corner and edge wear. Very solidly bound, 208 clean and solidly bound pages with sepia photographs, captioned in Czech, English, Russian, and French. From Wikipedia on the photographer: "Karel Plicka (in Slovak: Karol Plicka) (14 October 1894 – 6 May 1987) was a Czechoslovak photographer, film director, cinematographer, folklorist, and pedagogue. He is considered a founder of Slovak film education and filmmaking. He helped establish the genre of ethnographic film in Czechoslovakia." BB8
