Built of pontoons the new slip operates along 600 foot cable and can be swung in any direction to permit plane to enter and take off into wind. As a result the pilot is relieved of task of maneuvering plane in high winds or choppy seas. Ships bell mouthed entrance with water jets to push plane from 1 side of slip to other. Some partly inflated tires mounted along sides of dock to prevent damage to plane. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1947.
