Description: In 1944, Joan Miró completed a group of fifty black-and-white lithographs known as the "Barcelona Series", named for his hometown where he found refuge after escaping from Nazi-occupied Paris, the series is populated by faceless shadows, sharp-fanged hybrids, and wide-eyed forms with raised arms. This lithograph reproduction was printed in 1947 by the Meriden Gravure Company of New York, and published by Curt Valentin in the unsigned limited edition of 1500 "The Prints of Joan Miró". The print's verso provides the title and date of the original lithograph. Sheet size: 11 x 8 1/2 inches.
