1947 - 1952 Studebaker Convertible Rear Window Frame Orig Factory Rear Window

Description: This is an original 1947-1952 Studebaker Convertible Factory Rear Window. This vintage convertible rear window was recently acquired from the estate of an elderly collector. Window was tagged as having been removed from a '49 Studebaker Convertible over 35 years ago. This is an original Genuine Studebaker rear window assembly. Certainly one of the most distinct from the era of metal framed convertible rear windows, this factory Studebaker unit features a unique elliptical shape, with 2 separate panes of safety glass, surrounded by a bright chrome, slightly "V-ed", die-cast frame. This rear window has an outer die-cast frame, along with a matching inner die-cast frame, held together with 22 original screws(see back side pics). Both inner and outer frames are clean, with no breaks or cracks. Chrome finish still very shiney on both. Examined closely, frames have a few small blemishes, and some pitting present on both(see close-up pics), but still looks pretty good. This rear window should work on a driver or un-restored car as-is, or should re-chrome nicely for show. As can be seen in pics, the 2 original glass panes are present, but cracked, but should still serve as good patterns for replacements(these convertible rear windows use standard 3/16in. flat safety glass, which can usually be cut at most automotive glass shops). Overall length of this rear window assembly is approx. 30in., and height is approx. 9 5/16in. As stated, correct for '47 thru '52 Studebaker Convertibles, neat window for others.
