Description: Recently acquired from a local estate is this hard cover 1946 post World War II era high school yearbook “The Voice” from Bassick High School, Bridgeport Connecticut. This yearbook was owned by Fairfax Mason and is her senior year yearbook. It contains an individual senior photo of her as well as some group photos where she appears. Fairfax Mason was a well-known entertainer and the estate where this yearbook was acquired had many items of memorabilia about her. A brief summary from her 2007 obituary: Fairfax Mason, actress, singer, beauty queen, Fairfax lived in New York City. She was a graduate of Sullens College in Virginia with a B.A. in drama. Fairfax was a performer at heart, acting and singing for over 50 years. She appeared in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as the sexpot, Heddi LaRue. She also appeared in several soap operas, such as General Hospital and All My Children, and others. She was in several television shows, such as New York Undercover as a jurist, and was the understudy for the judge. Fairfax appeared as a singer in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the Catskills, and in Cuba before Castros takeover. A former MGM starlet, she was Miss Connecticut in the 1948 Miss American Pageant and was declared Miss Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for 100 years.
