Description: Up for auction is a beautiful censored postcard cover from a German Prisoner of War, POW held at Camp Dermott AR in USA , named Heinz Becker and mailed to Ferdinand Becker in Ginnheim germany Postmarked in April 6, 1945. in good condition. but note hole punches. Censorship by US authorities who used chemicals to detect hidden messages. Note that POW mail was entitled to free franking under the Geneva convention but the sender uprated it with a stamp to airmail. Sent about 30 days before Germany's surrender on may 8, 1945 it may have arrived right before the war ended or just after. No german censorship markings so likely the latter. Scarce item.
