Beresford and Esme Wynne-Tyson, who wrote a number of novels together in the 1940s.Similar to Beresford's other novels, 'The Riddle of the Tower' surrounds the science-fiction genre, being set in a dystopian, hive-like society. The novel explores humankind's self-destructive nature, and the lengths they will go to in order to achieve comfort and order in society.
