Description: A World War II censored air mail cover sent from Khanna, India and addressed to Marysville, California. The envelope is India Higgins & Gage #B18, the 1½ anna King George VI envelope from 1939-41 which is additional franked on the reverse with Scott #172a, the 1½a KGVI stamp from 1942, #178, the 8a KGVI stamp from 1941 and a pair of #162, the 1 rupee stamps from 1937. The stamps are tied to the cover by Khanna postmarks dated July 13, 1944 On the reverse are a Miami, Fla. Air Mail postmark dated August 7, 1944 and a Marysville, Calif. postmark dated August 11, 1944. There is censor tape on one end which is tied on the front by a DHB/136 censor marking and on the reverse by an octagonal Crown Passed DHB/24 censor mark. This envelope measures 121mm x 95mm.
