Description: This is an amazing book titled "Huber the Tuber." It was written and illustrated by Harry A. Wilmer, M.D. to teach people about the way that tuberculosis infections were spread, grew and killed. It was published by the National Tuberculosis Association in 1944 and strikes me as a try to educate the public when the problems about contagion were as difficult to teach as today with the pandemic. It has creepy drawings where Huber is the disease and the drawings illustrate how it gets into the lungs and propagates. The book is 64 pages and is 10 & 1/4" by 7". The top cover is torn away from the spine inside but it is still all hanging together. It is a very interesting attempt to bring science to everyone at a time when another epidemic was killing people.
