Some browning of paper, particularly on edges or border is very common in sheet music this old. Could have some minor fraying/foxing/dogears/bends/or small tears on edges. This may have come from from a previously bound volume (especially if it is listed as from the 1800's), so there can be holes and chips along the spine and the binding of the pages may be weak, loose, or in some cases detached. May have an "old book smell" due to the age of the sheet music. Pages may have ink stamps from original stores, may have owner's names written on them, may have private collection labels, may have other notations or writing in the music, etc. Staples (if present) may be corroded and/or rusted (and may not be original). If there are unusual condition issues, we try to include an extra photo showing the spot with the concern. Spots and minor smudges and scratches are usually in the original sheet music itself.
