Shea, Lecturer, Washington State Grange. Dated August 1, 1942, to “Worthy Lecturer”. Suggested Program includes a discussions of how to achieve parity in farm prices, and the furtherance of making synthetic rubber from grain. Also skits (i.e. “Women Builders of The Nation”), readings, and songs. December 1943 – Contains a lengthy skit “The Price of Equality”. Character include: a fruit grower, wheat farmer, dairy farmer, cotton farmer, union organizer, city housewife, banker, and politician.Two other mailings contain Programs for: · February / March 1944 · April 1945 The fifth mailing is not dated. It includes several sets of True-False Questions (followed by the answers). For example: (from “Set No.7”) Q.8. It is sometimes permissible to move the bible to one side of the altar, to make room for the ballot box – True___ False___.Answer – False. The bible should remain in the center of the altar at all times…. CONDITION These five (5) WWII era mailings from the State Grange Office (in Seattle) to The Grange in Selah are generally in good condition. They read well and are free of serious flaws.
