Description: Taylor Smith & Taylor’s Empire line was designed by J. Palin Thorley and introduced in 1936. The line used newly designed hollowware, but the flatware in the line was from the earlier Laurel shape, also designed by J. Palin Thorley. The Empire line, in turn, became the basis for TS&T’s hugely successful Lu-Ray Pastels line which was introduced in 1938. This teapot is in excellent condition, well cared for over the decades.
