Description: Far East Missionary Society Letter, 1940 One-page typescript letter, dated Sept. 28, 1940 on the letterhead of the Far East Missionary Society. Hand signed by Cecil M. Jackson. With original envelope. Very good condition.Rev and Mrs. Cecil M. Jackson were the first recorded Assemblies of God missionaries to Singapore. They were also missionaries in China. They came to Singapore as they were planning to go to Hong Kong for a temporary shelter from the early 1900s Boxer Rebellion. They apparently didn't know that the ship was heading to Singapore, where they arrived on April 1, 1928. The letter requests donations for missionary work in Malaya.
