Description: Older Vintage CASE Fixed Blade Hunting Knife w/ Sheath, Stag Handle Early CASE stag handled hunting knife and leather sheath. Date stamp dates it 1940-1965; leather sheath is a newer sheath by the Lawrence company, Portland Oregon. Nice shape on the sheath - snap closes tight, no cuts to the leather, all stitching tight and complete. The knife is solid with old school construction using 4 pins on both sides to hold the handle slabs tight. No chips or cracks to the stag noted and none around the pins. Typical 1mm or so gap between the slabs where they both come together on top and bottom. The red and black spacer bands are in good condition, as is the aluminum end cap. Handle is tight, no wiggle or play. Blade is in good condition and has always been properly sharpened, without any gouges or oversharpening to alter the blade profile. Tip is well pointed. Both the handle and the blade are in nice shape, with the normal wear expected from about 75 years of use! It has a 4 inch blade and is 8 1/4" overall. Overall condition is Good, no issues noted. Note the unusual blade style, particularly the swell on the top. I have not been able to find another one anywhere. I have spent a fair amount of time checking ebay and google and I can not find another knife that has this blade style and end cap configuration, so if any of you CASE knife experts can provide some details, that would be appreciated! Please review all of the photos as they are part of the description. Photos will supersede any written descriptions in case I missed noting anything or made an error in what I did write, so please look closely and ask questions if in doubt.
