Early copies in dust wrappers are particularly scarce.The Documents in the Case is the only one of Sayers' twelve major crime novels not to feature her protagonist Lord Peter Wimsey, however it does feature the secondary character, forensic analyst Sir James Lubbock. The epistolary novel tells the story of a young man trying to get justice for his father. Written with Robert Eustace, a penname for Dr Eustace Barton, an author known for his medical-crime novels. CONDITION In the original blue cloth binding. Externally very smart with just slight shelf wear to the extremities and slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Ink inscription to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper is sound with chipping and the occasional closed tear to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and handling marks to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with marginal age toning due to paper used and the odd spot, heavier to the fore edge.
