Description: Here we have a nice old survivor from the old south! It was printed in 1939 by the Culinary Arts Press of Reading,Pa. The title page says "The Southern Cook Book of Fine Old Recipes." Inside the cover says"Old Southern Secrets" Gems of Ante-Bellum Days."This Beautiful and Attractive Cover" contains 322 Old Southern Secrets-- Recipes That made The South Famous. The wooden cover is in good condition and has metal hinges and is a 1/4 in. thick. It has a couple of knicks but overall is very nice. The pages are all there, but are yellowed and the edges of some are fragile. Please see pictures. It has a lot of old recipes and has numerous drawings of African-American people doing various chores and has some politically un-correct ditties with them. This is a great collectible from a bygone day and is really a great book to display or use! Please look at the pics and email any questions. From a non-smoking pet friendly home.
