This collection includes two coins that features both the last of the old design and the first of the new design, with both coins bearing the same year date. The 1938 Buffalo Nickel, designed by James Earle Fraser, depicting the iconic American Bison on the reverse. A new Jefferson design was introduced in 1938 replacing the Buffalo nickel. With both series in production at the same time, total numbers struck were low for each series. This set comes on a colorful dual sided mount with certificate of authenticity, in a hard acrylic stackable case (3.25" x 5.25"). Mint marks will vary.
