Description: This is a rare find! United Kingdom's "The Times Weekly Edition". Printed May 20th 1937 especially for "The Crowning of the King". Prince George is crowned King George VI. This news paper has 104 printed pages. The first thirteen pages are roman numeral; and then The Weekly Times numbers the news pages in regular numbers 1-64. There is a special eight page (non numbered) multicolorful insert called the "Christian Science Monitor The Coronation Color Section". This special insert is found after page 64. The colors used to color the special insert are gold in color, black, red and blue . This special insert (printed in April 22, 1937) is typed in caligraphy; and has black and white pictures of the Throne, His Majesty King George VI., multicolor Map of the British Empire, black and white photos of Princess Elizabeth Alexandora (eldest daugher), Princes Margaret Rose (second daugher) and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Angela Margorerite (wife of George VI). After the Christian Science Monitor The Coronation Color Section" the pages once again return to being counted by roman numerals beginning with xv and ending in roman numneral xxxii. This section of "The Times" has numerous many advertisments, photographs in color, black and white of the coronation, military, Windsor castle, leading politicians, Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang, other bishops and foreign dignitaries. Used. All pages are discolored; Every page has some form of discoloration, miner rips at the edges and some form of fold or crease. Front Page and Last Page are detached from the news print; the front page and last page have numerous rips and tears; the front page is missing the lower right corner area approx 6" X 5"; and the last page's top left corner area missing from being torn away; this measures approximately 3.5" X 4". The first 13 pages are in roman numeral. Regular Number Pages (PG) issues: PG 3/4: horizontal rip from edge to the center's 1/2 approx 9.7" Long. PG 17/18 horizontal rip near top right of page approx 4.5"Long. PG 25/26 horizontal rip from right edge approx 4"Long. PG 45/46 horizontal rip from edge located lower right approx 1"Long. PG 59/60 Horizontal Rip from edge located at center of paper approx 6" Long. Special multicolor section is detached from the spine. PG xviii is not attached. The rips do not interfere with the undestanding of the sentences. The Christain Science Monitor Coronation Color Section has minor issues: PG1/2 has a vertical slit (approximate 6" long) running from the spine fold upwards. PG 3/4 has multiple mini holes on left side edge (spine side) and on the right edge there is a horizontal rip measureing approx 3" long; PG 5/6 has a horizontal rip measuring approximate 1". PG 7/8 has a vertical rip running upwards measuring approximately 6" Long. The roman numeral section xv through xxxii has minor issues: pages xv through xviii is not attached at the spine and have numerous mini rips. These rips do not interfere with any picture or typed sentence. The dimensions of "The Times Weekly Editon The Crowning of the King" measures approximately 18.5" Long X 12.2" Wide X 2 CM in Heighth; Weight: 1 pound 2 ounces 1 gram (1 pound 2.1 ounces).
