Offered here are two rare 33rpm 12” discs containing a complete radio broadcast from RUDY VALLEE AND THE CONNECTICUT YANKEES radio program of June 15, 1937. Program was originally broadcast from the Hotel Astor, NY. On these discs Rudy sings some of the songs that he was most famous for. What a fun, great radio program!! There are a total of 10 songs on these double-sided 12-inch, 33-rpm discs. These discs appear to be black lacquer acetate coated aluminum. These discs were recorded live by Edwin Strong, Inc, at the Hotel Astor as it was being broadcast on June 15, 1937. There are 2 discs and therefore 4 sides. These discs were recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general public, so these are very rare! In addition to Rudy Valle’s announcements at the beginning of the program and throughout the broadcast about the evenings performance and guests there is his trademark opening music. Songs include “You’re Precious To Me”, “Scattin’ At The Kit-Kat” with the Swing Kids, “Love Is Never Out Of Season”, “Cuban Pete” sung by Judy Starr, “Strangers In The Dark”, “My Little Buckaroo” sung by Rudy Vallee. “Tiger Rag” by the Swing Kids, “The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down” by the Swing Kids, “You’re Going To Wake Up Some Day”, “Wake Up and Live”, and then Rudy’s closing trademark theme.
