Brown, 93-year-old jeweler, and Martha C. Hanner, who gave her age as 34, obtained a marriage license in San Diego, and immediately left for a coast town to be married. They admitted an "elopement" from Long Beach, California where both have known each other a year, to escape the "ire" of Mrs. Hanner's mother, who, the groom said, "tried once before to stop us getting married.
