The volumes are edited by Jean Hanoteau and translated by Hamish Miles.Armand Augustin Louis de Claulaincourt was the scion of an ancient Picard family a soldier of the old regime and Duke of Vicenza and Master of the Horse to Napoleon. The first volume details his memoirs from 1812-1813 and the second volume details his memoirs from 1814. The first volume has a frontispiece. CONDITION In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some fading to the spine and some marks to the boards. Front hinge of volume one is starting but remains firm. Internally, both are firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
