Between 1840 and 1860 it is estimated that 60,000 dozen Green River knives were sent west to emigrants, buffalo hunters, Indians, miners and settlers. This knife has the blade forged from the fine carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing sharp cutting satisfaction.
