Description: A rare 1939 Pressed Steel Toy by the great American Industrial Designer Viktor Shreckengost (1906-2005). This Steelcraft Mercury Flyer Train Ride On Toy was made by Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co. In 1939. During its life it has been nicely restored to its original colour then pinstriped in ivory colour, emphasising the art deco streamline curves of the body. Wood rear wheels were kept and metal were fitted at the front. Rolls nicely as it should. Condition is good with a few chips here and there. Stunning and solid piece throughout.
