Description: Measuring about 8" x 5-1/2", this small photograph album - if I've counted correctly - contains 26 pages and a total of about 48 photographs. A partly illegible handwritten presentation on the inside front cover is dated 1928, and the name "Margaret Florence Phillips" is written on both inside covers, indicating the probable identity of the original owner. There are handwritten captions on some of the photos, but most of them are dates, leaving the identities of the people in some doubt. The only two that have names written on them are captioned "Daddy" (a man wearing what looks like a Texaco cap); and "Florence and Lillie Mae" (two girls sitting on the edge of a porch). If it's any help, it was found in eastern North Carolina, but you know how these things can travel. And most of them are glued right to the page, so there's no way of checking for additional captions on the back. Of the dates written on the photos, I believe all are in the 1930's, except for the guy in the Texaco hat, which is dated 1923. There are some full length graduation photos (two dated 1934, one dated 1935), but otherwise I'd describe most of the photos as family content - kids playing, people posing in front of houses, etc. The last picture - taken on the front stairs of a large Victorian house, has a group of seven children with three adults - one man and two women. The album itself is in used and worn condition, as you can see in the pictures, with the cover chipped and worn, and at least one page totally separated from the binding. At the front of the book, it also looks like some pages might have been removed, and there are a few pages that have had photos removed.
