Description: This original 1928 plat map of a section of Jersey City Hudson County NJ is from a plat book of Jersey City published by G.M. Hopkins Co.of Philadelphia 1928. This is just one of 48 different numbered plates. Maps are listed by plate numbers. Please see the index in photos for plate numbers of different parts of the city. This map is bordered by Central Railroad of New Jersey, Jersey City Branch Lehigh RR, Old Bergen Ave., and Brown Place/Neptune Ave. Maps show great detail with explanations including names of businesses, churches, etc, and uses different colors and fonts. Each color represents a different type of building construction (brick, wood, iron, stone/concrete, and frame) and each font represents a different geographical boundary (wards, block county numbers, present assessor's block numbers, old city block numbers, and adjoining plate). See explanations (key) for what all the symbols and fonts indicate. Map measures 24" x 34" and would present beautifully in a frame. The title page and index shown are not Included in this auction. However, a photocopy of the title page and explanations (key) are included. This is an original 96 year old map, not a copy or reprint.
