Despite the literary merit of his classic autobiographical account, producing the Subscribers' Edition only had left Lawrence facing bankruptcy; this forced him to produce this pruned version for sale to the general public, and was an immediate success.A fascinating first-hand account telling of Lawrence's experiences in the British Army while serving as a military advisor to Bedouin forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire.Illustrated with a frontispiece and further full page plates, complete with folding ma to rear. CONDITION In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally generally smart with minor shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, damp marks along the back strip affecting both front and rear boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
