An illustrated pamphlet on the life and notable fights of Albert Griffiths (1871-1927), better known as Young Griffo, who was World Featherweight boxing champion from 1890 to 1892. Griffo won the most consecutive bouts in recorded boxing history, and many consider him to be one of the first boxing world champions in any class. This brief biography, rebound in a cloth binding, was written by Jack Read, former Lightweight Champion of Australia. To the rear is a record of Griffo's fights. Illustrated with five illustrations and including fourteen pages of advertisements. Undated, dated through copies held at the National Library of Australia. CONDITION In a cloth binding, with the publisher's original pictorial paper wraps bound in. Externally very smart, with just some very faint marks to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned but clean, with a crease to the front of the original, now bound-in, paper wraps.
