Description: It is very rare to find this type of Doll 1 by Kathe Kruse in great condition for its age. 100 years young - wonderfully hand painted Kathe Kruse Tar colour filled Doll 1 made in 1924. (Teerfarbe/Tar Baby) With original face paint and no restoration or repaint, as shown by the uv light photo. The cheeks were heavily painted red. The face, nose and other areas of the head have some paint loss. There are some repairs to the tops of the arms, crotch area and some wear on the fingertips. The bodies of these dolls were partially impregnated with tar colour so that children could immerse them in water. This doll has not been in water. The stuffing was generally reindeer hair. Sole of the left foot stamped 'Kathe Kruse'. All clothing, including shoes, is either vintage or original. Please view all photos as they form the description.
