Description: Rare Antique 1920's American Muncie Pottery Peachskin Musical Decanter Yellow Green #14Great condition for a 100 yr old pottery, one minor flea bite on one of the rims only noticible by touch, top is missing but would look great with a cork fitted into the top or just use as a vase, price refects top missingMuncie Pottery began in 1919 in Mucie, IN deriving from the German-American Clay Company that had opened in 1915. Muncie potters such as A.E. Trifonoff and James Wilkins developed the company's carved designs and colored, matte and drip glazes. Unfortunately, after twenty years of production, Muncie Pottery closed its doors in 1939 due to the Great Depression.Beautiful drip glaze top with a peachskin base, more beige blue to my eye but is called yellow greenThe music box on the bottom is detachable, it plays beautifully when the decanter is picked up and then stops when set back down.
