Description: This is a lot of four letters from management of the historic Monmouth Hotel in Spring Lake, New Jersey. Three letters are dated a few days apart in August 1919 and are all signed by Assistant Manager Edwin S. Tyng on letterhead of The Monmouth. A copy of a telegraph is pinned to one of the letters and all the letters relate to accommodations of a guest that was coming to stay at the hotel and the type and cost of rooms available. The fourth letter is dated 1920 and on different letterhead of The Monmouth illustrated with a photographic vignette showing a view of the hotel. This letter is also from and signed Edwin S. Tyng and sent to the same client with similar content regarding the cost of rooms and the type of rooms available. The Monmouth was one of the grand hotels of the Spring Lake area on the Jersey Shore that was a playground to wealthy during the 18th century gilded age and early 20th century.
