Novels and children’s books were not so specified, but they used the words ‘Second Printing,’ ‘Third Printing,’ etc., on subsequent editions. The example we offer here boasts high-end features like the gilded top text block; a frontispiece and seven more full-page color illustrations by Maria L. Kirk; illustrated front board and endpapers. The volume measures about six by eight inches and consumes 234 pages. Condition:Sound binding in very good condition, especially for antique; light shelfwear. Gift inscription on endpaper, else text clean and unmarked. Dustjacket fair with spine faded, splits and losses but remains very attractive in protective cover.
