This listing is for the lot of letters shown from son, Henley, on United States Military Academy West Point New York Letterhead to his mother in Pacific Grove Pennsylvania. There are approx 17 letters with envelopes... Unfortunately, we have rearranged them a bit when photographing. There is a card with photo and an empty envelope (with sticker on back) indicating class of 1891 which would be his father.but the rest of the content, letters, are from about 1916 through 1918.While we only glanced at them, there is talk of the threat of war, mentions of the president, of marching... From a kind ebayer: This is a fascinating collection! Chapman's name was actually Henry Henley Chapman. He graduated from West Point in April 1917. He was KIA in France on Sep 29, 1918. Both his father (USMA 1891) and great-grandfather (USMA 1831) were West Point graduates. Henley Chapman is buried in the West Point cemetery.
