Description: Up for sale is this extremely rare 1913 Major Drapkin & Co."CINEMATOGRAPH ACTORS" silent film star card of MURIEL FORTESCUE (MABEL NORMAND) professionally graded by SGC 3 VG.I believe this is Mabel's first ever trading card, or 'rookie' card. She was initially promoted by the Biograph Company under a false name in the UK and other territories. After leaving Biograph she began working under her real name. Very scarce card. Issued in England with cigarettes. 1913's 'Cinematograph Actors' has the distinction of being the very first cigarette card set to exclusively feature film stars. The early pioneers of the silent era were in that set and Mabel Normand was the biggest comedic actress of the 1910's and 1920's.
