Description: 1913-1919 26 Vol. SIGNED Bombay Edition Rudyard Kipling Linen Spines Bought from Argonaut Book Store in San Francisco years ago for $1250 + sales tax. Still have receipt. I am selling for the same amount that I bought the book set for plus $100 to cover the packing and shipping *anywhere in contiguous United States.* It is 3 boxes about 20 pounds each, individually wrapped books to assure safe shipping. A description from when I purchased these books is included below: "The set was published beginning in 1913. It is 26 volumes, complete, and is titled the "Bombay Edition" of his complete works. It is signed by Kipling in volume I as part of the production. The limitation was 1,050 sets. This set was bound in linen spines with a paper title label and paper-covered boards. This is the original binding as issued by the publisher. Of course, sets are out there rebound in leather and reaching $12,000. !! This set is notorious for the publisher's glue (where they pasted the paper onto the boards) seeping through the paper and appearing as stains on the boards, which of course you don't see when the set is lined up on the shelf. There are a few sets of this work "out there" by other people, in the same original linen and boards, offered at at upwards of $2,500. My price for the set is $1,250... all sets in this original binding are stained on the sides. A word of explantion. Our number of volumes is 26. Kipling kept writing obscure additions to his works so the set eventually reached 31 volumes. Any number over 25 volumes is considered complete."
