Description: Published in 1909 2nd edition Land Birds: Bird Guide East of the Rockies by Chester A. Reed Designed as a pocket guide to take with you in the field. 5.5" x 3.5". This book has gotten wet. There is some staining on the pages, although not heavily. The pages are not flat, there is some wave to them. (Pictures that represent these issues are shown) The hardcover is good. Some stretching of the binding within but still holding. (Pic) One ding on the bottom.edge of front cover (pic) Almost all illustrations of the birds are color. They are maintaining their color really well. Lots of interesting species are included that are now extinct (Ivory-Billed Woodpecker) or are no longer included in modern day eastern US bird guides (Greenland Wheater) or many whose names have since been changed (Snowflake). Overall it's in very good condition for a pocket bird guide that is 115 years old. A neat addition to your collection.
