Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE ENCHANTED NORTH by J. S. Fletcher, and published by Eveleigh Nash, London, 1908. With 18 stunning illustrated colour plates, 12 of which being from oil paintings, and 6 from water colours. A further 12 black & white full-page pen and ink sketches, and 18 plates from photographs. A large colour foldout 'Map of the Northern Counties' to end of volume. Split into 4 sections 'In Yorkshire', 'Teesdale, Weardale, and the Durham Coast', 'In Westmoreland and Cumberland', and 'In Northumberland'. Bound in grey cloth hardboards with red lettering to front board, black lettering to front board and spine, and red, black and white illustration to front board and spine. Bumped and chipped to head and tail of spine. Boards firm. Binding slightly pulling. The plate facing page 136 is detaching. Pages clean. This book is in very good condition. 253 pages. 22.5 x 16.5 cm.
