Description: An atypical May 19, 1908 rotated dial Doane (2/1) cancel with heavily inked bars from Carnes, Mississippi on this unusual postcard showing Navy sailors attending a "Sewing Class". The postcard was sent to Hoffman, Oklahoma where it was canceled "Rec'd." on May 21, 1908. Carnes, MI has not had a Post Office since 1934 and this Hoffman, OK Post Office in McIntosh County has not operated since 1922 -- a scared "double DPO"! Interesting and unusual historic item. Fine condition; sharper than the image may appear. If the image does not readily appear, please try hitting your computer's reload or refresh button while viewing the item. Successful bidder to pay $1.50 shipping in the US ($2.50 elsewhere); insurance extra if desired. PayPal accepted for payment. Questions -- please ask~
