Description: Up for sale today is the true series key of the 1907 Woodchoppers, the rare and elusive Fr 89m with Elliott-Burke signatures on the front and a Frank White back plate. This was an extremely short print run of this signature, representing less than 1% of the population, and almost none were muled with the newer back plates. This Fr number is the rarest of the Woodchoppers, even more than the Napier-Thompson and the star notes. There are only 11 known in the PMG population report. This note features a very high serial for the signature, most Fr 89 notes fell between the range of H47xxxxxx and H50xxxxxx. This is only the second Fr 89m I have had in 20+ years of collecting and selling. This is one of the most iconic and popular designs in US currency, having been used from 1869 to 1928. This signature alone is rarely seen when it does come up, so this is quite a trophy. The note grades a nice Fine in my opinion. Shows some circulation and handling with a pinhole in the center, but still presents nicely with good color. Please judge grade/condition for yourself. Woodchoppers have really been moving up lately, I have been seeing even the common ones in the $300 range in VF. This is rarer than the Napier-Thompson going for $675 in VF.
