Description: The Life and Letters of Lady Sarah Lennox 1745-1826; Daughter of Charles, 2nd Duke of Richmond, and Successively the Wife of Sir Thomas Charles Bunbury, Bart., and of the Honourable George Napier; Also a Short Political Sketch of the Years 1760 to 1763 by Henry Fox, 1st Lord Holland. Edited by the Countess of Ilchester and Lord Stavordale. Published in London by John Murray. Two volumes. 1902, 322 pp, 333 pp, 6x9’’, hardcover binding. In good condition. Covers and spines on both have some age-related toning and wear that has caused some discoloration, bending, and tearing along the edges. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are worn, but pages remain attached and the support is generally even throughout. Some pen and pencil inscriptions at the beginning of the volumes from a previous owner. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Lady Sarah Lennox was the most well-known for the Lennox sisters, daughters of Charles Lennox. She was a favorite of King George II since early childhood, and was invited to court. The lives of her and her two sisters would inspire a television show in 1999. Any issues with hinges or binding due to age or wear could provide an excellent opportunity for restoration or rebinding, if desired. FORN-SHELF-0683-BB-0223-JR973
