Description: This 4 1/4 by 6 1/2 inch early 1900's cabinet photo has the image of a toddler in a long white dress holding a wheeled pull toy and standing on a fur rug in front of a lace curtain. I won't give the sex of the child because both little boys and girls wore dresses and jewelry during this period. Girls usually had their hair parted in the middle, and boys on the side, but this child has bangs, which could mean either sex. There's a famous childhood photo of Teddy Roosevelt in a dress with long hair and bangs! The pull toy may suggest that this is a boy - a girl may have been more likely to be holding a doll. The photo was taken by A.N. Gaouette of Monson, Massachusetts. See my other listings for another photo by this photographer - his work is of superior quality for any era. The card has a small round stain at the upper right. Otherwise sharp and clear and in good condition.
