The October, 1900 issue of Mayflower magazine. Mayflower magazine was an advertisement for the botanical business of John Lewis Childs, a gardening entrepreneurs of the era. Childs was the first to establish a mail-order seed business. He created an entire town on Long Island , New York , named for his product: Floral Park. The Mayflower was published from 1885 to 1906, offering gardening tips and seed packets, with a colored plate in each issue. ------ Condition. Worn binding; wear and some loss of paper at the edges of the wraps. The covers remain well attached. No writing, no markings. Foxing at the margins of the color flowers plate. A few minor page stains.
