Description: This lovely 1899 ELGIN 0 size Hunting Case pocket watch is in an excellent 20 Year Gold Filled barleycorn case, a Hunter Model with the stem at 3. The watch is in extraordinarily fresh, bright and well preserved condition – the dial is beautiful with one faint line above 8, elegant spade hands and 100% lettering. The 7 jewel gilt movement, serial number 7562715, is as clean as a pin and, while guaranteeing a 120 year old watch that has been in estate storage and has not been serviced is not possible, I can say that each time it has been wound, it has run flawlessly. The case is very attractive with no dings or dents and no personalizations. This is an unusually clean and strong old pocket watch that obviously didn’t see much use and no abuse.
