A great find from a local New England estate! This antique volume is over 132 years old! 1st American. Ex-library. In great condition overall! Tight, sturdy and square! Original publisher cloth binding shows some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, some general wear around the extremities including light bumping to the corners and fraying to the spine extremes, and some soiling and spotting to the page edges. Otherwise this is a well-preserved antique volume! The gilt title lettering on the spine still displays nicely from the shelf. Internally, this volume is in great shape overall. Both boards and all page groupings are firmly attached to the binding. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the tile page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions. Tight and square overall! The text block of this volume is very clean overall. There is some typical age-related toning to the pages, a few noticeable spots of light soiling and foxing, as well as some gentle corner creasing in spots, but otherwise this volume is quite clean and remains perfectly readable throughout!
