In 1890 it went into bankruptcy and was reorganized as the Shenandoah Valley Railway, becoming a part of N&W later that year. Today the tracks are a major artery of the Norfolk Southern Railway.  Items from the SVR are seldom found, but I offer for auction a freight receipt dated March 15, 1889. It was for charges for freight transferred from a branch line to the main line at Crimora, Virginia. The total freight charge was $64.28. No other information about the shipment is provided. The receipt measures appx 8 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches and is printed on medium-weight paperstock. It is in very good condition, even considering it is over 125 years old. It has no rips or tears, and all writing/markings are from its issuance and processing. It has a small hole from when the railroad stored it on a vertical needle file. The back side is blank. A great item for the SVR or N&W railfan.    Get images that make Supersized seem small.Showcase your items with Auctiva's Listing Templates! THE simple solution for eBay sellers.
